why don't you compare your spotting with Blue Tiger (Tirumala limniace) ,,, it may match :)
Add him in your Facebook friends.
Ashish, "Only Isaac Kehimkar can confirm... He is most expert in India." How do I get in touch with him?
Thanks Atul. Seems like there is a bit of competition going on here. So far 5 different possible ID's! It's just so much brighter in colour than the other Blue Tigers I have seen in my garden.
lovely spot ! for me it is The Blue Tiger (Tirumala limniace).
thanks a lot Ashish. How do I get in touch with Isaac Kehimkar? Is he a projectNoah ranger? I just saw another similar one this morning. It's flying pattern seemed different, it was closer to the ground, landing on lower bushes. And not nearly so blue. Unfortunately didn't have my camera with me. Battery was recharging!
But my first choice is Dark Blue Tiger (Tirumala septentrionis)
May be Nilgiri Tiger (Parantica nilgiriensis) or Chestnut Tiger (Parantica sita) as their ventral view is more Blue I am not yet confirm which one it is... Only Isaac Kehimkar can confirm... He is most expert in India.
Now I have a new ID for this one, to add to the others... HELP! either one of the Tirumala Tigers or Dark Blue Glassy Tiger I have been bouncing back and forth in Wikipedia. Very difficult for me to distinguish between them
Look alike Dark Blue Glassy Tiger
