Males or females?
Wondering if I got shots of the 2 different butterflies that were playing in my garden. Was hard to keep track of which one landed where!
Can't stop posting these beautiful butterflies...

thanks Martini. On the first 2 photos here the colour on the wings was much more orange, than red. This was the larger of the 2. Then I got confused as to which one I was spotting, as they were both flying round. When I first spotted them they were both resting on a low shrub.

There is little difference between male and female in Pachlioptera as can be noticed in the link here http://www.treknature.com/gallery/photo117416.htm I cannot tell which of these is the female. It is interesting to note that the tails are broken on both of these and maybe that is an occupational hazard associated with mating. Yours is suffering the same condition.
