Field Notes

Description:

Looking like the rock faces of a miniature Grand Canyon, this earthy orange crust thinly covered decaying wood. There were leathery patches of dark brown and it was difficult to tell this apart from the orange crust. Some moisture droplets were visible but there were no obvious pores.

Habitat:

Growing in a hollowed out decaying lichen covered eucalypt tree stump in a cool temperate rainforest.

Notes:

Another one that I can't identify. Would be greatful for assistance with an ID.
