Field Notes

Description:

Perennial plant with serrate and ciliate leaves. The flowers are purple to blue and is 1 to 2 centimeters long with five small white spots above the white tubular throat. It has five protruding stamens tipped with white anthers.This plant is native and endemic to California.

Habitat:

Grassy area along trail at Daley Ranch

Notes:

I though it was Charlotte's Phacelia but Wikipedia says it's only found where the Sierra Nevada's meet the Mojave desert.
