Thanks for your comment. I am positive it is a Purple Finch, the picture quality is just terrible. It's a dark cloudy day through a window with my phone camera. I'll try to get better ones another time. Yes, the feeder is wonderful! We get bluebirds, cardinals, purple and gold finches, two kinds of woodpeckers, chickadees, and titmice all at the same time!
I think what you have there is actually a House Finch. Purple finches tend to have more color on them...almost like a House finch dipped in Kool-Aid. It is nice that you have a good window feeder with birds visiting it.
