Field Notes

Description:

Thick vascular stem with white hairs. Seems to have both purple and green stems. Ants like it.

Habitat:

Growing where a tree stump once existed.

I would guess it's a Raphanus(wild radish) judging by the basal leaf structure and the 4 petals. I only know West coast plants But I'm almost positive it's a type of Raphanus.
I am guessing from the cross-shaped flower it is cruciferous (Brassicaceae family). It reminds me of arugula, except for the red stem.
