Field Notes

Description:

Size: 18-22 mm. Like Tarucus balkanicus but the underside of the hindwing line proximal to spots is broken at the veins;the uperside of the wing of the male is blue with fewer spots; while in the females is hard to separate.

Habitat:

Resident in Egypt; Occurs wherever its food plant occurs; Host plant Zizyphus spina-christi, which is abundant here in Sinai

Spotted in my garden on my 'nimnam' flowers (Shouwia purpurea) -
