Field Notes

Description:

It can reach up to 81cm in length and 12kg in weight. It has characteristic tail with a yellow-edged margin.

Habitat:

It can be found in Indo-Pacific Ocean where it lives in lagoons, channels and seaward reefs, from 3m to 250m in depth.

Notes:

Other names include lyretail grouper or the caramel cod.
