Field Notes

Description:

Juvenile.

Habitat:

Urban area - this one seems to like to stick around the edges of our home.

Found hanging out in the dojo adjacent to our home. It apparently liked twining in around the bicycle wheel.

Notes:

This is not a pet! this is just another great example of urban wildlife.

Wow, beautiful! Definitely is awesome "urban wildlife."
Thanks Misha! Nice to meet you too. Sounds like you get to do some interesting work. Did you go in the water at all as a mermaid?
Hi Dan! (I'm a huge fan of your awesome spottings) Nice to "meet" you. In the photo yes, that's me as a mermaid promoting our "Artificial Crochet Coral Reef" Exhibit at work. By day I do environmental education, but I spend my free time as a bellydancer and occasional mermaid ;) I really love your pic too - You're quite brave to be wrangling a mantis (I'm amused as I just did a program on "martial arts in nature" last night and matids were, of course, a big hit of the show!)
Great spotting! I like your avatar pic too! Are you some kind of mermaid?
Thanks everyone! This little guy was a really great find.
