Description:

Light brown, golden body. He hopped up onto the Ranger truck during a prescribed burn, heading out away from the flames.

Habitat:

Coastal uplands at Emerson Point Preserve

Ok - looks like the snout katydids and coneheads are the same group. I think Satyen and Ashish that's definitely the group. I'll try to pin down the local species. Thanks so much!

Snout Katydid Dry season form.
It gives me a place to start though! I've had a hard time keying out grasshoppers here in Florida but I'll keep looking.

Hi Satyen. Thanks for the post. I think it is similar, but the head and coloration look different. Also that post is from India and I'm not sure if our FL species would be the same.
