Field Notes

Description:

Lizard of approximately 20 cm long, with very rough scales. Dark brown on the upperparts, belly red.

Habitat:

I saw it resting on the edge of a creek, deep in the jungle behind a goldmine. The spot is called Yaoni.

Notes:

Because of the rough scales, I think this may be a Neusticurus sp.
Otherwise I have no indication on the species.
