Description:

This tiny bright orange moth mimics the foul tasting lycid beetle.

Habitat:

On Acacia in an urban bushland reserve.

Notes:

This has the appearance of having two pairs of antennae but the forward pair are labial palps (modifies feeding apparatus) and seen clearly in this (different) species http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_concealermoths/XYLORYCTIDAE.htm

Wow nice find martin. While reading about this circle of lycid mimicry I remember thinking this might be the hardest one to catch.
