Field Notes

Description:

elongated ,oval shaped red berries on a tree with no leaves.
Snowball tree?

Habitat:

part of local landscaping.Trader joe's parking lot.

Notes:

Hi Emma, the best guess I can make from this photo is that it is from the Rosaceae family. Was it in a natural setting? Maybe this is a clue as to where to search. I know there are a lot of Cretaegus native to the California area, not that that is what I think this is, but I would search for deciduous members of the Rosaceae family from the area. Hope this helps :-)
