Thanks very much Sachin Zaveri,i learn it here:-)whith the noah ranger's and other friends,i pass some days making like's in spotting lists of many fantastic photographers that we have here in noah. I trie to make easy the task of the ID(it's a task that take time and knoleaged),several photos of the organism in several diferent poses or ampliations and finaly a bit of the place so we all can enjoy the magnificent places spreaded all over the world:-)
Emma it's what i think, the noah "laws" are clear and very simple in what concern to what we can show in the photos,a part of that when i make this kind of spotting i trie to bring to others the contexts of the place where i spott the organism, when i make the first's of this kind i remark that most part of my noah friends like it:-)they where interested in the organisms and in the all the other aspects that make the spotting make sense.even in the cientific point of vue is interesting know about the places where the organisms actualy grow and finally like you say the historical perspective is ludic for all, making more plasent the(some times:)"heavy" cientific stuff ,turning easy to simple guys like me to learn the cientific names and the details of the species and the orders,etc...
Arlanda, you put in words what i think, better than me:-)My principal concern now is to have more people in the missions, so we can realy cover the map and from what i se is going to be a long journey:-)the idea of making photo ID raid's in the national parks and protected areas,is one of the ways to achive that,i'am preparing whith some friends a raid to Peneda Gêres National Park in the spring, maiby april,a little group of 4 or 5 people,we chose a special mountain track that lead us to several tips of zones,in altitude and in biodiversity, began whith the sun until nigth, one day.We can make this every 4 seasons in the same park.it's easy to do,4 day in a year :-) whith little ideas like this, whit some "publicity"that we can make in our jobs and whit our friend of diferent zones to join noah, will have a better coverage of the field. I think to ,that there are to many missions, but it's normal, everyone as ideas and the will to participate, whith time only some of them will make sense, time is one of the better ways of solve problems:-) Thanks for the spotting comment, when you came to Porto you HAVE to contact me:-)
The historical aspect makes the botanical part interesting!
Dear Antonio, I understand very well your point of view. And the charm of the mission is of course to be local. An Iberian mission would be maybe too big, and besides, being already a portuguese and a spanish mission it would be pointless. I participate already in 34 missions, including Portugal's Biodiversity mission and I think they are starting to be too many, so there is no need for one more redundant mission. By the way, nice picture. I have not been yet in Porto but i will try a.s.a.p.
Thanks Asérgio for your kind words p.s.the other day you name me by Xára:-)and i dont knowed exactly what it means,i knoned that was a nice thing but not the exact mean,so i ask my brother that lived in brasil for 15 years and like i thougth it's a great complemment from you and i can call you grande Xára to my friend:-)
Arlanda,my friend,if i understand well the mission you talk Iberian biodiversity, would substitut the two that exist now, portuguese and spain biodiversity. Well, when i creat the portuguese biodiversity mission, someone ask me whath was the aim of the mission,my objectivs when creat it,my unswer was that it was not a nacionalist mission, spain and portugal are in the same biodiversity area(Iberian peninsula),but there are many diferences, like between Galicia and andaluzia. My idea was to make a regional mission centered in a tiny area, then trie to enlarge the number of people activ in the area(during a 1 year more or less)so, after have suficient people spreaded along the territorie, began, more tiny missions to raid several protected areas that are completly forgoten in noah portugal map.So my aim is to make tiny missions to cover all the territorie and not make more big mission that have allways big holes in the maps and have so many people that you can never knowed everyone to plan things like this. However if you want,if you think it's better, we can spread your idea between portuguese mission ,so they can express there thinkings about the subject. I creat the mission but it's not anymore "my" mission, the 53 join people have a word in that kind of matter. If your idea is to make a Iberian biodiversity mission ,mantaining the other two activ,it's simple and i'll support you of course. So i'am waiting for a word from you,so we can take actions:-)
Antonio, esta foto representa bem meu assombro a respeito da capacidade da vida se perpetuar, dadas as mínimas condições. Além disso, ela mostra um pedacinho do Porto - cidade que eu ainda quero conhecer... / Antonio, this photo is related to the astonishment I feel about life's capacity of endure given a minimum condition. Besides, it shows a little piece of Porto, a city I still hope to know one day.
@Thanks for one more precious id @Thanks Karen for the precision in the id
yesterday when i reload this spotting(after someone erase it based in the wrong idea that the first photo does not show any living organism),i reload it whith the most amplified photo of the plant in first place like someone suggest to me,because i dont to want to look provocatif. But after sleeping under the matter and talking whith several noah friends i decided to came here and put the spotting like i did in first place.I think i have this rigth, the spotting is perfectly "legal" by noah laws,if you se the first picture is clear the presence of several plants growing in the stone arch.So i hope this put a stone under the this "erase episode".
Hi Antonio, Eulalia Rubio has started a new mission called Biodiversidad en España/Spain. I thought that there is no significant differences between our respective faunas and it would be nice to have a common mission called Iberian biodiversity or similar including the islands (Madeira, Azores, Canary and balearic). What do you think about it?
I think Seema is right & you do have a maidenhair fern (adiantum sp.) to the left on your second photo.
