urban backyard beside a coastal wildlife corridor

Notes:

Probably one of the 'rumped' Thornbill species, either Yellow or Buff.

thanks mark... Yes that looks like the one. Great you found a website that compares the different ones. Good website! I am always thrown by the female and juvenile of a species. I don't know enough about birds... But I'm leaning!
Update Pam... I think it's Yellow-rumped Thornbill - Acanthiza chrysorrhoa, but maybe immature and/or fem. The experts go by eye colour apparently. Check this great page... http://www.peterfuller.com.au/birds/galleries/thornbills/yellowrumpedthornbill.html http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Acanthiza+(Geobasileus)+chrysorrhoa
I would put 'Thornbill (Acanthiza sp.)' in common name, leave scientific name blank, tick needs ID, for the time being. And in notes suggest one of the 'rumped' species.. Yellow or Buff. We don't have any Oz bird specialists in PN that I can think of though.
Yes Mark, could definitely be that. I looked at that one, but I thought I could see a bit of browny colour at the base of the tail in photo 3. What should I do now? Wait and see if anyone else comments? Or just enter Thornbill and the species?
Also as it's not showing it's rump, and we saw lots of others of these, this might be a chance... http://ibc.lynxeds.com/photo/yellow-rumped-thornbill-acanthiza-chrysorrhoa/perched-branch-overlooking-lawn-where-had-been-f
Hard to be sure isn't it. Buff-rumped looks pretty close to me. Definitely not the 'Brown' ... too leggy and gracile.
I think this might be a Thornbill, but I need help with which one. Looking at Buff-rumped Thornbill, but I'm not sure...
hahaha, yes Mark, indeed!
