Field Notes

Description:

Tiny Wild Flower about 5 mm across. They grow close to the ground in heavy undergrowth with some sun. They look like miniature primroses. The second picture was taken on 14 April 2014.

Habitat:

Overgrown shrubbery along a street, semi-urban area, outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you chesterbperry, it really is just 5 mm! They are down low in the grasses but still very striking.
I would say it is Oenothera, O. speciosa if you accidentally put millimeters instead of centimeters, but flowers that small I am not sure.
