Field Notes

Description:

Adult male with metallic black crested head, silvery white body and tail streamers. Female chestnut above and whitish below. Young male similar to female but with chestnut streamers. Male (with tail streamers) overall 50 cm.

Habitat:

Well watered and shady forest, plantations, groves and gardens.

Notes:

This one was among the bamboo thickets where there were lots of other small birds. :)

I agree Chimet, I've seen this bird in flight. It looks very pretty. Very difficult to click tough as they are very restless. I've clicked a few snaps after running behind it for hours at Jim corbett.
