Description:

Can be told from the similar Ringed Plover in winter by the darker legs, greyer back, white forehead down to the bill and the slight orange tinge to the head. Head and back of the Ringed Plover are the same shade of brown.

Habitat:

Coastal marshes with disused saltpans
