Description:

Rich brown general colouring; slightly spiny shoulders; black and orange connexiva; 25mm body length; head has flat black surface with orange-brown stripe middle

Habitat:

Found in grassy very open eucalyptus suburbia

Looks good to me thanks martin. My bug is nicer than theirs :) I hope I'm getting better with the camera. Even simple ones require learning and practice.
This is a very clear image for your camera - well done. Although there is one main difference with the Brisbane site, the following link has the alternating pattern along the rim of the abdomen, and even a quite different color. http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_stinkbugs/GlossyShieldBugs.htm Considering this seems to be a variable species, I think we have a match. Wish I had an ID tho Atul - I seem to be getting a few weird ones lately.
