Description:

Young spittle bugs begin life in a tube. This nearby insect in Pic 2 (some were all black) is a nearby suspect for adult.

Fantastic Martin. Missed this one - I feel the the tubes look very much like the gum nuts with the furry white coating. Great photo of the bug too..
