Species ID Suggestions

Adelpha malea goyama

Adelpha malea goyama

Adelpha sp.

Comments (2)

I do not think it is Adelpha malea goyama. This has different markings on both forewing (additional orange spots at the apex) and hindwing (slim white stripe compared to Malea and "mirror-like" patches on the forewing from the orange spots of the dorsal side). Might be Adelpha abia or Adelpha thessalia. But from this shot it is probably not possible to get a definite ID. http://www.neotropicalbutterflies.com/Site%20Revision/Pages/Nymphalidae_Pages/Limenitidinae/Limenitidinae_Pages/Adelpha_thessalia_indefecta.html http://www.entowinkler.at/jalbum_08/slides/Adelpha%20thessalia%201oben%20a%20HW.html http://www.neotropicalbutterflies.com/Site%20Revision/Pages/Nymphalidae_Pages/Limenitidinae/Limenitidinae_Pages/Adelpha_abia.html
