Description:

Furry spider.

What appear to be bluish eyes???

Some orange spots on back.

Seems to be sending out silk into the wind.

Habitat:

Huntington Beach backyard.

Hello Jeff, this is definitely a jumping spider in the genus Phidippus. It resembles the Bold Jumper, P. audax http://bugguide.net/node/view/2006 but the orange on the legs makes me think this may be an early instar of P. apacheanus http://bugguide.net/node/view/27092/bgimage?from=48
