What I see is that P. himalayana has a thin black band on chin and beak is bi-colour. Not so for Plum-headed. P. himalayana range may fit more...I have seen a lot of the Plum-headed ones in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh.

Hi Sukanya I got another id suggestion; slaty-headed parakeet (Psittacula himalayana) Can you please check.
