Field Notes

Description:

Looks like the common edible green frog, but is much smaller.

Habitat:

Europe, eastwards up to the Volga river. In marshes, pools and ditches where the water does not flow; not in forests.

Notes:

Seen in summer 2006, at Matafelon (France).
A youngster, stille bearing a tail, leaves the water.
