Lycaenidae/Hairstreaks, Atlides sp., Atlides halesus. I think it might be Atlides halesus corcorani, the male. The other one is more in the East and North of US. Did you notice some orange belly? http://butterfliesofamerica.com/atlides_halesus_corcorani.htm
