Field Notes

Description:

I'm not really sure what this is. Some had a dark amber liquid coming from it & in the final photo, I scraped the top off & inside was a dark black substance, it was like licourice, but softer. I thought it was really interesting.

Habitat:

Found in a very hot, humid garden next to a railway line. It was growing on mulch in a garden. This site gets full sun all day.
