Most of us are still learning, and only a few shots come out perfect, I may take several hundred on a good day and delete loads, but as I can no longer carry around heavy loads, I use the lightweight camera and lens and use it as a telescope also, just photograph everything, then look through after to identify, surprising what you find which you didn't see with the naked eye!
thanks for the info. I am always impressed with your passion to birding. I am learning and hopefully I will have more bird shots to post and follow your path to bird photography. I am still an amateur and still learning all the camera features and software.
I am currently using a GH2 with 100-300 zoom OIS, normally set to 300. Even with OIS I need to use at least F8 and >1/500 second, so often need ISO 400 or 800. I shoot in RAW only and process in Lightroom 3.6.
just curious what lens do you use for your birds?
i like the last shot of this series- better picture
