Field Notes

Description:

The Australian sea lion lives only in Western Australia and South Australia and nowhere else in the world. The total population of these animals is only about 10,000 to 12,000, which makes the Australia sea lion one of the rarest sea lion species in the world.

Habitat:

I took a visit to Kangaroo Islands Seal Bay, Home to a colony of around 1000 sea lions. I Managed to get very close to these magnificent animals, whilst they where resting on the beach from there three day fishing trip out at sea. An unforgettable experience!

Thanks Ilya they are truly amazing animals!
They where almost extint due to hunting, but lots of hard work and conservation has allowed these beautiful animals to live peacefully.
So Peaceful, very hard to understand Man's slaughter of them.
