Description:

Flower with pink tubular flowers that have yellow on the ends.

Habitat:

Along trail with various wildflowers.

Notes:

This plant is not native to California. This is the state wildflower of Oklahoma.

Beautiful! I have seen Firewheels before but not like this! From what I read it is a cross between G. aristata and G. pulchella. I had the same flower in my garden...I think it is a variation in the species...they are beautiful.
Thanks for the ID misako.hill. I didn't think it was the same flower at my earlier spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8987473 since this one's petals are trumpet and the center is a different color. I guess the flowers change a bit during maturity.
