Description:

This small Bumble Bee was on the ground and its wings were a little tattered. It was also covered in fine reddish sandstone dust. The north american montane Bombus species are difficult to separate visually. This might be Bombus mixtus (http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?search=Bombus+mixtus).

Habitat:

W Rim Trail, Zion National Park, Utah.
