Field Notes

Description:

On the second picture you can see male (third from the top ) and female - the one with a bit "dirty" reddish beak an white spot on the wing (second from the top).
The bird fist from the top is probably mallard's female - they were floating most of the time together.

Habitat:

First pic: small artificial lake, second pic: big dam lake near Tokyo.

Notes:

This season I found a lots of them - few years ago they were rare and if spotted - just singles. This winter I found twice a flocks of about 10 to 20 birds.
