Description:

These black leafhoppers have orange markings.
They are attended by large black ants.

Habitat:

Roadside plantations.

Yep I can't agree with Ken's suggestion at all. I'm going to make a comment on BB.
Ooooooooh! That looks closer in every way. Eurymelita terminalis (Walker) It was another Walker who suggested Eurymelops
Martin, please check Eurymelita terminalis http://www1.dpi.nsw.gov.au/keys/leafhop/species/etermina.htm -markings are quite faded bt match yours.
