Description:

A female Soldier Fly, 1 cm in length. The head and thorax are metallic green while the abdomen is yellow with black stripes. Family Stratiomyidae.

Habitat:

Feeding on small white flowers. Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
