Description:

Also known as Toadstool Leather Coral and Leather Umbrella.

They produce a toxin to stop other animals from colonizing their areas. They feed on plankton.

This coral has a smooth stalk and folded margins. The polyps are crowded on the surface, which has a smooth leathery appearance when the polyps are retracted.

Habitat:

Found on coral and rocky reefs, growing over intertidal areas, at depths of 10 to 30m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.
