Field Notes
Description:
White fronted bee-eaters have white forehead and throat bands. They nest in small colonies digging holes in soft banks and cliffs. As their name suggests their main diet is comprised of bees but they will also take other types of flying insect. They are able to swoop from low braches and attack insects in flight or hover briefly over vegetation to pick off insects from the flowers and leaves.
