Field Notes

Description:

It's hard to believe this is a Little Blue Heron if you have never seen a juvenile because it is all white and the adults are all blue. You can tell because it has greenish legs and the bill coloration also helps distinguish it from other small white herons and egrets.

Habitat:

Among lots of water lettuce (https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1419446017) on La Chua Trail, Payne's Prairie. The water in this area was much higher than usual due to recent rains.
