A very pretty photo, of a very pretty butterfly.....
The markings and wing shape do not correspond to the butterfly known as the White Admiral in North America (Limenitis arthemis arthemis). This is an African blue-banded swallowtail, Papilio nireus. As indicated in the notes this butterfly is captive at Smithsonian Butterfly Pavilion.
