Field Notes

Description:

Large common coreid bug sporting dull brown colors, strong hind legs and yellow tips. Nymphs are very colorful (pics#2&3 show two instars)

Habitat:

On blackwood (Acacia) tree.

Notes:

Nymphs spotted on an earlier occasion in the same park (January 2012)

The plant is Acacia. This seems odd because venation is parallel while all cotyledons should have leaves with a branched vein pattern. But some Acacias have phyllodes (a flattened leaf stem) and no true leaves at all.
