Field Notes

Description:

Small white fungus, > 2 inches in diameter, living close to the ground.

Habitat:

Montane ecosystem of meadows, and mixed forest.

Notes:

Spotted in Timber Creek Campground, Rocky Mountain National Park. The spotting consists of what are believed to be two of the same species, located a couple of feet apart, one seemingly old and cracked, the other younger and intact.
