adorable mother-kid pair
Thank you all! Good to know the name and the welcome!
You are right Daniele, I didn't look good enough on the picture :P
Not the rhesus macaque but the bonnet macaque, which is found in the southern parts of India. They have a cap-like whorl of hair on their head, which radiates outward from the center. Since it resembles a hat, they have been named bonnet macaques.
No worries Apple :-) There is a bit of confusion around the site at the moment about the local versus global nature of some missions. At this stage all user-created missions are local at first, even if the wording may suggest otherwise. If unsure the best way is to check whether a mission is listed under Global missions or not. The true range of a mission is indicated not by the spottings which may have been been submitted but by the grey circle on the map.
@Daniele..sorry, I didn't realize it is a local mission.
@Apple, hi! The mission you are referring to is actually a local mission, and this spotting is not within its range.
You could add this to the mission Moms with their Babies at: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8533779
Great spotting ghobrial! Welcome to Project Noah. There is a Primate Watch mission on this site. You can join it there: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/6566154 You can then Edit your spotting and add it to the mission. You can also find out about other missions under the Missions tab.
Is it a Rhesus Macaque?
Sweet photo! Welcome to Project Noah ghobrial.
