Field Notes

Description:

I have put these as fungus, though I am confused because I'm sure they have what look like small seeds in the bottom??

Habitat:

These were found in gardens of a nursing home. In sun & shade, growing on the woodchip that the gardens are mulched with.

Species ID Suggestions

Cyathus striatus

It's a good ID Leanne. A great and unusual find too.
Im 100% sure it's a Cyathus. to know the species, you'll need to see the spores (cutting a peridiole, the little seed in the bottom) but the lines in the cup make me think it might be a C. striatus.
