That is a hoary marmot. The Alaska marmot has not been documented south of the Yukon River. The only marmot species in Denali NP is the hoary marmot. I have spent the last three years studying hoary marmots.

This was taken in Alaska, near Mt. Mckinley, any ideas? All I know is its a marmot. I had assumed it was an alpine marmot because of the habitat.
