Common Name: Pentatomid Shield bug

Found this beautiful bug on a leaf one afternoon.
Look very strange with all the warts on it.
Size: 1cm approx(Body only)

Habitat:

The Western Ghats.
Altitude: 1100mt approx

Looking at this I can't tell which is the front and which is the back. My good friend is from India. I will have to ask her if she ever saw one. Are they common.
