Field Notes

Description:

ENORMOUS bird - like a plane nearly! 70-85 cm. Grey upper parts and wing coverts, white head, neck and underparts, white tail with blackish base. White coverts contrasting sharply with white underwing.

Habitat:

Lower Seletar Reservoir (sweet water- dammed of from salt water) Yishun, Singapore.

Notes:

I see it a lot around the reservoir. Mostly far away from the shore. It has a nest far away in the trees and goes out fishing often. This time it was "close" above my head as it was traveling away from the reservoir a bit.
