Yes, I agree, Martin. The wasp larvae don't eat vital organs, allowing to stay alive while they develop, but the amount of damage made deadly weakens the caterpillar. And the holes in the caterpillar's skin and body are a open window to infections.

Ouch! I saw one the same. I think the caterpillar was dead but didn't know it yet.
