Field Notes

Description:

Small shrub, perhaps 3 feet tall. There were several other specimens around this one. This looks like one of our native Vaccinium species (Blueberry relative), but not sure which one. Any help is appreciated.

Habitat:

West Central Florida. Pine flatwoods habitat. Mixed shady area under pine trees, set back about 50 yards from a small lake. Completely wild area.

Notes:

This spotting is from the Violet Cury Nature Preserve, in Tampa Florida.
