Description:

Common Pierrot, is a small butterfly found in South Asia that belongs to the lycaenids, or blues family. Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Tenasserim, Sumatra, East Java, Bali, Bangka, Timor, Wetar, Kissar, Sumbawa, Sulawesi, Andaman Islands and South Nicobar Islands.

Habitat:

It is a common butterfly, distributed in the low country and below 3000 feet and sometimes above it, throughout the year. Found in cultivated areas along hedges and fences, and home gardens with overgrown scrub with interspersed trees. It basks in the sun and prefers open spaces and scrub jungle.
