Field Notes

Notes:

This butterfly has a slightly different color pattern than my previous spot ( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8944805 ), and I don't know if it is the same species or not. So, I'll let the ID to the experts. Bayucca, Martin and anyone else, the ball is with you.

cool spotting!
Martin, they are really stunning. And the better is that there were dozens of them flying around me, each with wingspan up to 15 cm (6 in). It was a wonderful sight.
Asergio, this is the one that my reference book calls Morpho polyphemus and the other one it called M. luna. My reference link suggested one is a subspecies. This hind wing has stronger patterning. These are stunning specimens of Morphos that are better known for their metallic blues.
