Description:
Adult female dorsal features: scapular grooves are steep, legs have pale rings, porose area is small, unfed female can measure 5.0 mm - 6.5 mm in length, engorged females can measure up to in length 20 mm in length.
Adult male dorsal features: cervical field depression is apparent, lateral grooves are short, 2x posterior ridges present, central festoon is pale in colour, paracentral festoons are joined anteriorly, paramedian grooves are small and indistinct. Males can measure between 3.8 mm - 5.00 mm
Habitat:
Hosts: cattle, sheep, goats, horses
Pathogenesis, cattle/ horse: Theileria annulata, Bovine babesiosis
