Field Notes

Description:

Red-bellied Woodpecker. I have been trying to catch a picture of this woodpecker for 2 weeks now. He is so fast and by the time I make it to my window with the camera he zooms off.

Habitat:

He comes briefly to my backyard feeder but I hear him pecking away in the woods just backing our fence.

Very pretty! I enjoy watching these guys too - I find they love the suet blocks & will come right up onto the deck for them!
